Who We Are

We are a passionate and caring team creating exceptional wellness and personal growth experiences for our clients!

It is our thoughts and actions day-to-day that determine who we will become, mentally and physically, tomorrow. When we look at who we are now…we must understand the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly actions that led us to this point. When we look at the person we want to become…we must resolve our minds and bodies that only through daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly actions will we achieve our dreams.

It is my experience, both in my own practice and helping others, that addressing health and wellness wholistically is the best way to achieve our goals. This means finding our own natural rhythm in exercise, nutrition and stress reduction. Finding what works for you is the key to finding balance.

I work with one client or family at a time to fully invest helping them discover their own wellness rhythm.

As daunting as it can be to embark on a journey of change and transformation, the rewards are endless. I believe everyone has the ability to live a joyful life, have fulfilling relationships and experience wellness.

Johanna’s Story- I know that counseling can be highly effective – not only because I have seen great results in my own clients, but because I have experienced them myself. Throughout my late teens and most of my twenties, I felt lost, and at times, hopeless. Therapy didn’t simply help me struggle through and manage – it helped me live the life of my dreams. Now as a mother of two I’m grateful to be able to pass on all I have learned.  This is why I ultimately chose to become a therapist myself, and why I consider it an honor to accompany you or your family on this journey.

My approach- I blend many types of therapies including: Body-centered, expressive art, nature-based, mindfulness and play therapies.  I work with individuals, couples and families, addressing challenges including: depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction, disordered eating, low self esteem and many others. The process is active and challenging as well as supportive and light-hearted. Finally, because you’re a unique individual, my work isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather, it’s custom-tailored to meet you and your families’ needs. Read More.

Experience and Training- I have been working in the field of psychotherapy in a wide range of settings for over ten years. My experience ranges from wilderness treatment program counseling for teens and young adults, to crisis intervention at a community counseling center to school-based counseling in rural Mexico. I worked for Mental Health Partners in Boulder, CO as a Child, Adolescent and Family home-based bilingual (Spanish-English) therapist for 4 years. I have experience leading empowerment/educational workshops and groups. In 2011, I received my Master’s Degree from Naropa University in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a focus on Wilderness  Therapy.  I’ve been in private practice seeing individuals, adolescents and couples for 5 years.
